Have a Magical Birthday

Hello,  I find it hard to start a post these days.  Not sure acting like all is well is the right thing to do, however today I think that is the direction I am going.  Today we have a new challenge starting at Seize the Birthday.  This time it’s all about the Kids!  I have this darling new to me stamp set that I was just itching to get inky.  I didn’t blend my Oxide background as well as I thought I did and I didn’t realize that until I saw it here on my post. I colored the unicorn with both Copics and Colored pencils.  The stamp set is from My Next stamp and the sentiment is from Scrapbook.com.

You have to check out the rest of the DT’s cards at Seize the Birthday…it’s amazing how different they all are!

If you find yourself creating a lot these days, I hope you will consider playing along with us at STB. Remember the topping is optional and any type of birthday card will do.

Take care of yourself and HUGS! Nanc’

  1. I like the way you blended the inks… it gives it kind of an ethereal feel to me. At I get you about getting up and wondering how to act. I live alone so I only have me to determine. Art and cardmaking has been saving my bacon! But believe me, there have been the day’s I just lay on the couch and watch tv. I’m in Washington and we are on stay-home orders, which I’m grateful for in a way, anyway, didn’t mean to go off… super cute card!!

  2. I love how you ink blended the background panel, Nancy! The colors are so dreamy (I noticed the colors are the same as those on our banner :))! Beautiful coloring on the unicorn too!

  3. Love the blended ink heart for the magical unicorn. Great card for kids. Love it.

  4. What a darling card Nancy! The unicorn is so charming and I love all the scattered stars and that beautiful blended background behind the die cut heart! It looks great!

  5. Unicorns are so inn right now, this makes for a great kids card. That rainbow background looks perfect. No need to blend.

  6. Fabulous use of color! Love that background a lot

  7. What an awesome card! Love everything about it – so magical! The unicorn looks charming, of course, but I liked the background – you might think the blending is lacking, but I loved the striped rainbow-y look. I wanna use that combination of colors some time myself!

  8. That blended background looks absolutely fine to me, and I love the beautifully coloured unicorn.

  9. This is delightful!! I LOVE how you created that background!!

  10. I must say Nanc’ the background is what popped out at me with my first look, it is so striking and so magical looking! I think it is perfect! The unicorn with all the stars make for a fabulous birthday card, I know my granddaughter would absolutely LOVE this card!! Heart Hugs, Col

  11. I think your blending is terrific! I love the colours you chose for this sweet card. Fabulous layout too.
